Your Right to Data Deletion

At WowEnglish, we respect your privacy and your right to control your personal information. You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. This page explains how to request data deletion and what happens when you do.

How to Request Data Deletion

To request deletion of your personal data, please follow one of these methods:

Method 1: Through Your Account

Log in to your WowEnglish student account
Navigate to your Profile settings
Click on "Delete Account" or "Request Data Deletion"
Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm your request

Please include the following information in your request:

Your full name
Email address associated with your account
Phone number (if applicable)
Clear statement that you want to delete your data

What Data Will Be Deleted?

When you request data deletion, we will permanently delete the following information:

Your account profile information (name, email, phone, etc.)
Course enrollment records
Payment and transaction history
Learning progress and assessment data
Video viewing history and progress
Communication records (messages, inquiries)
Zoom registration and access logs
Any other personal data associated with your account

What Happens After Deletion?

⚠️ Important: Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Your account will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered
You will lose access to all courses, certificates, and learning materials
Any active enrollments will be cancelled and fees may not be refundable
You will need to create a new account if you wish to use our services again in the future

Processing Time

Once we receive your data deletion request, we will:

Verify your identity to ensure the request is legitimate (within 1-2 business days)
Process your deletion request and remove all associated data (within 7-14 business days)
Send you a confirmation email once the deletion is complete

In some cases, we may need to retain certain information for legal or regulatory purposes (such as financial records for tax purposes). If this applies, we will inform you of what data must be retained and why.

Data Retention Exceptions

Please note that we may be required to retain certain information even after your deletion request:

Financial records required for tax and accounting purposes (may be retained for up to 7 years)
Information required to comply with legal obligations or court orders
Anonymized or aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you
Information necessary to prevent fraud or ensure security

Third-Party Services

If you have used third-party services to log in to WowEnglish (such as Facebook, Google, etc.), you may also need to revoke access through those services. We will delete your data from our systems, but you should also check the privacy settings of any third-party services you used to access our platform.
